A car dealer website, or local auto sales, is a privately owned business that regularly sells new or used automobiles at the wholesale or retail value, depending on a dealer contract with an automotive manufacturer or its direct sales division. It also carries a variety of Certified Used vehicles. It employs car salespeople to sell the vehicles. In a large metropolitan area, it may have close to one hundred dealers, including some located in shopping centers. Some dealers have satellite locations which show other local cars.
One of the car dealer tricks is to offer financing options, usually through the dealer’s own finance department. A dealer will often set up a “new vehicle finance option” through the automaker. The loan process usually includes lower monthly payments over an extended period of time. Some dealers will finance a new vehicle through their own finance department while others use a car manufacturer’s finance arm. The loan amount typically includes trade-in value of the old vehicle.
One of the more questionable car salesmanship tactics is to charge “unlimited mileage” fees to consumers. This is often a ploy to increase the number of monthly payments made by the salesperson. The salespeople profit because they meet the needs of the customer and increase the number of monthly payments. The customer pays more in the long run since they must pay numerous fees or buy numerous vehicles with high costs.
